About Ceginfach

Ceginfach Butchers and Bakers Blocks are made with pride and passion by team of two, Jon and Sonia, working from a small workshop in rural North Wales, using Welsh wood and other materials wherever possible.

Ceginfach translates as ‘little kitchen’, and Ceginfach Butchers and Bakers blocks are just that – kitchens in miniature, offering everything you need close to hand, and wherever you need it!

Our ‘Classic’ Ceginfach Butchers Blocks come with a 40 mm deep short-stave oak work top finished with two coats of antibacterial oil, a slatted Welsh oak shelf (removable for ease of cleaning), a towel rail and casters. Each one is then painted in your choice of Farrow and Ball Estate Eggshell paint. If you prefer, we can also offer a full-stave Welsh oak option for your work top.

Our Bakers Blocks are finished with a granite, slate, or composite stone top to provide a smooth, cool surface for your baking.

Each piece is bespoke and made to your specification – in your chosen colour, to your measurements and with any of the additions that we offer: a dovetail joint drawer, either painted or solid oak faced, a slide-away work top (which can be removed completely and used as a chopping board or serving board for cheese, nibbles, etc), a rolling pin with cradle to leave your work top free, an extra Welsh oak shelf and even a lift off or slide-away Welsh oak tray for serving breakfast in bed!

Supplied with four casters as standard, two of which are lockable, your Ceginfach can be moved with ease to wherever you are working, perfect for anywhere from kitchens to beach huts and bars!

Everything is hand-crafted and hand-painted with painstaking care. We use traditional construction methods, tools and materials alongside modern machinery to produce each individual piece of furniture.

No short cuts are taken when making our furniture and each piece is made individually, with close attention to detail. Nothing is rushed and each piece is finished by hand and checked over thoroughly before leaving our workshop, fire branded with our distinctive Ceginfach logo.

We believe that our passion for making Ceginfach furniture is reflected in the beauty and functionality of each piece we make and we simply can’t say it any better than the great William Morris:

“Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful”.
